Relax, the Cambridge toastmaster is here to help

Richard will work with you right from the start, ensuring that everyone involved is fully aware of how you want your wedding day to be. Contact between you, your guests and all the professionals involved in your big day - including the staff at the venue, any photographer, videographer, DJ, band and any entertainers - are part of the bigger picture. His job, as Toastmaster, is to ensure that everything runs smoothly, to your agreed timeline - and that there are no gaps or last-minute panics.

Whether it be the wedding party or organiser, guests or speakers, everyone will be in the right place at the right time. Everyone will know where and how things will be happening. This, of course, takes a lot of stress out of the whole event for you and other organisers, professionals, venue staff, family members or best man or woman. With a Toastmaster like Richard by your side, you and your guests can relax and enjoy your special day even more than you thought possible.

"Having Richard there as the Toastmaster made our day totally stress-free. He did an amazing job with all of our guests, taming them at times with his wit."

What a Toastmaster adds to a wedding

Having a Toastmaster as part of your event means things generally run more smoothly and more professionally. It’s Richard’s job to provide a stylish and hospitable front of house, acting as your Master of Ceremonies, but to a level that suits you. After all, this is your day and your event, not his!

By coordinating all those involved in your special day, he will ensure, on your behalf, continuity throughout, making sure that a relaxed and enjoyable time will be had by everybody.

Here’s just a few things that being a Toastmaster involves:

  • Being there at your welcome drinks reception, handling the arrival of guests and photography sessions

  • Overseeing timings and seating for the ceremony, dinner proceedings and wedding breakfast

  • Co-ordinating and announcing any ceremony, presentations, guest speakers, the cake cutting, and your departure at the end of the day

  • Always explaining what’s happening against the pre-agreed timeline, who needs to be where and when

  • Being the point of contact between you, your guests, venue staff, photographers, entertainers and/or speakers

  • Being as formal or relaxed as you require

  • Taking control when necessary, but generally keeping things upbeat and running smoothly – providing a calm, reliable and personable service
